We’re Hiring!

Our markets are expanding and we’re ready for some extra hands on deck! We have four possible positions but strongly favor a candidate who wants to hustle and take on two or more. Our team currently consists of an Operations Manager (Berenice), a Communications Manager (Me!), and a Social Media Manager (Maritere). The three positions we have available are:

1 - Ops Specialist (Remote): Assists with tasks related to digital upkeep/maintenance of our registration systems/processes. This happens on a predictable, recurring schedule per market as each registration needs to be republished each month. The time commitment is roughly one day per week, sometimes two days for about 3-4 hours. Pay rate starts at $10/hr and increases to $15/hr once you can fulfill your tasks completely independently.

2 - Market Coordinator (On-site): Assisting on the day of the markets (some Saturdays and Sundays) to orchestrate setups and teardowns, and either assist with or run the community booth. Usually 2 hours before the market starts and an hour after (8 hours total each market). Pay rate is $12.50/hr if assisting Berenice during a market or operating a small market with no community booth, or $25/hr if operating a large market alone with community booth. You are welcome to partner with a vendor to leave your products with them to sell while you attend to the market.

3 - Sponsorship Coordinator (Remote): Acquiring paid sponsorships for our markets by contacting local businesses. Sponsorship packets and material will be provided, you just need to feel confident with generating your own leads and contacts. Be passionate about our markets, our community of wonderful vendors, and our mission to drive local economy forward with unpretentious and down to earth markets! For an example of sponsorship offerings, check out the link here. You will earn a 20% commission on ALL sponsorships.

4 - Communications Assistant (Remote) - Assist in responses to inquiries and messages, reposting Instagram stories, sharing of events on appropriate channels, helping with some graphics and social media. Pay will vary per month based on workload and ability to function independently (between $250-$500).

For Market Organizer:

  • Be on time no matter what.

  • Have a clear understanding of the vendor map and feel confident directing vendors to their spaces during setup.

  • Be personable and kind, and care genuinely about our vendors, the venue hosts, and the market as a whole.

  • Make rounds to talk to every vendor and report general opinions, feedback, etc. to Kenny and Berenice.

  • Will commit to learning, using, and communicating via team management software like Slack and Monday.

For Sponsorship Coordinator:

  • Professional grammar and communication skills.

  • Self-solver and can seek answers to questions for inquiries.

  • Can align graphic standards with those currently in use

  • Don't be afraid to ask us for answers if you can't find one yourself

  • Personable, kind, and warm personality.

  • Will commit to learning, using, and communicating via team management software like Slack and Monday.
