Many of our peers, including myself, lost power on February 14th, 2021, forcing us to go without heat and water for more than 96 hours. Entire collections were devastated. Our hearts are breaking watching members of our community lose their plants, despite their best efforts to preserve their collections indoors. Some have lost homes, and some have lost loved ones. I hope this can at least help rebuild one small part of their lives.

This program was designed to be as safe as possible for both parties. No names are revealed publicly (only to me for accountability) in order to curb discrimination and protect identities. Receivers are asked to have photographed proof of their lost plants, with their handwritten phone number displayed clearly in the photo. This helps Givers feel secure in their decision to donate, helps you avoid any awkwardness or suspicion, and ultimately increases your chances at receiving replacements.
