Howdy!

I’m Kenny and I’m a local collector and grower in the Houston area (coming to Manhattan May 2021!)

I’m a founder of Houston OnlyPlants, a community of over three thousand enthusiasts sharing advice, plants, and friendships. Community-building is a long time principle I gravitate towards, having also founded the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students at the University of Houston during my studies in Environmental Design. I’m now able to combine my design background with my horticultural curiosity through interior styling and consultations.

As a grower with several years of experience under my belt, my motivation lies in shepherding knowledge and helping my peers build confidence and fine tune their intuition for gardening. My knowledge comes from scientific publications, journals, and research rather than anecdotal evidence. I truly believe understanding the science behind light, soil, water, and nutrients gives anybody a fool-proof foundation to succeed.
